Last Call Boogie - Downhome Dave Gigs, Jams, and Friends Pics
Переглядів 73414 років тому
A video slide show of many of our jammers, friends, band mates (present and past) set to an original song "Last Call Boogie". I was actually messing around with a new video editing program and loaded some photos on it with a song and it did the rest! I thought what it did was not bad and would be good video to add to my website www.downhomedave.com - Hope those of you that stumble on this enjoy...

Here's my attempt at this in 12th position. Thanks for the lessons and this back track Chris. I had trouble with that darn bridge. Probably should have worked on that some more before doing this video.
Sonny Rhodes Lap Guitar Blues with Downhome Dave Harmonica
Переглядів 3,1 тис.16 років тому
Sonny stopped by our local jam and sat in. This is about the fourth time he has stopped by in the last couple of years. Amazing and inspirational that a man who plays as many shows as he does chooses to stop by and sit in with a jam session. Make sure to check out Sonny Rhodes when he comes to a town near you. Classy guy, great performer and a living legend of the blues.

Merry Christmas. A lesson on how to play Blue Christmas made popular by Elvis Presley. A great piece to work on your intonation. No tabs
Great cover of a great Delbert song.
Dave, I have a straight out of the box hohner blues harp. On many of the notes I get a " whispy" air leakage or even no draw on the 2 draw. Is it just keep going dude, or is there a technique I don't know about? I can bend.
Thanks Dave
AND while i'm at it, who's drinkin the beer behind you????
Your a cool dude, a somewhat sophisticated and laid back pro, I love bands like this and hope you are well paid for the effort, The drummer looks like he's a happy go lucky guy enjoyin his stuff with everyone, the guitar man has lots of stuff up his sleeve and is a class act. (although he reminds me of the motel owner from physco)..no offence meant just an observation...lol.
I wouldn't want to be playin with that drummer....
Good stuff Double D!!!
...and the guitar looks good on you!!! :P....never seen it before!...maybe Sunday???
Very good recording and nice slide show. Thanx a lot for sharing this great music at UA-cam. I wish you many great gigs!!!
The original recording was with Tampa Red 1940 and the song was later covered by Fats Domino (1951), Chuck Berry (1960), The Rolling Stones (1960's), Shakin Stevens (1980's) and many others... Thanx for this great version!
Just passing through and found this... Great cover guys. Thanks for posting :-)
Fantastic!!! Love it You guys are just great. Thanks for posting:) Grandma Mary

Nice! I think Michael Peloquin has that exact harp!...Have you heard michael? Chris and I are both fans. J
OK so we need someone to post a better quality sound. Where ever Sonny is livin at.. get on up off of them chairs.. and put this man in better standing with a great quality video..PLEASE! This man can play, dont grade the sound and insult an artist! And thanks for posting this, its a great start, to get the motorcycles runnin.
Hey ... cool stuff Double D. Some funky sh$t here, and a nice long harp lead. Gotta love it man. If I ever get out there, gonna come and play with you man.
Who's that handsome harp player??? Double D, no doubt. Cool harpin and singing man.
Liking that tone Double D. Cool stuff man.
Good stuff Dave.Enjoyed and will be trying to get this off with all the bends.Thanks.
Hey Dave just found your youtube stuff :)! Great stuff with the band and nice interpretation of Blue Christmas!
Like the way you're showin' it dude! Thanks for the lessons and the 'tabs'.. I'll be workin' on that! Have a great, great Christmas!
Very good! the blues is in the house!
i only know this song sung by ole man brownie mcghee...nice harpin though, I'd love to hear more of this deep vibrato. good job!
Great stuff. Tell us about the band. Who's on harp? Where are they performing..city/state.
Hey Double D. Sounding good bro!!!!
Yes, you're right on target. Fulson's song is a classic example of what I've always called a slow rolling shuffle. Heavy triplet feel. Like "Rock Me Baby." Nice work!
